Two central themes prevail in my work: the habits and personalities of the birds and the landscapes of the homes they live in. The natural habitats and timelines expose as much beauty and secrets as the birds themselves.

A word from Shirley Moore Leago about this painting
Mountain Liions or Cougars are indigenous to the western United States of America. The Cougar has been seen in the West Texas area again where they were once prolific. They range from a tawny grey tan to a golden yellow in color; I enjoyed painting the young male Cougar emerging from the cool blue shadows in search of new territory as the cat expands his numbers. I created the paintings from my imagination and the way I think it would look to see a cougar come into the sunlight.
