Two central themes prevail in my work: the habits and personalities of the birds and the landscapes of the homes they live in. The natural habitats and timelines expose as much beauty and secrets as the birds themselves.

A word from Shirley Moore Leago about this painting
The black wolf seen mostly further South is a rarer color for the Timber wolf. These wolves are in the McKittrick Canyons in West Texas.
An unusually heavy snow storm has forced the pair to take refuge beneath the boughs of the pine tree. The Omega wolf hangs back to let the dominant Alpha male take the lead. Snow still clings to their heavy winter coats protecting them from the elements.
My paintings are a product of my imagination and I make the story happen as I invision it in my mind.
