Two central themes prevail in my work: the habits and personalities of the birds and the landscapes of the homes they live in. The natural habitats and timelines expose as much beauty and secrets as the birds themselves.

A word from Shirley Moore Leago about this painting
Caribbean Flamingos are one of six varieties. They are smaller than the Great African Flamingo but larger than the Lesser Flamingo of the Andean Mountains. They are the most colorful of the group. These Caribbean Flamingos are enjoying the soft warm rain in a tropical rainfall, but the shower will soon be over and there will be a silver lining on the clouds. This is to symbolize that when we have a bad time that tomorrow will be a better day. This painting was painted for a charity event to raise money for battered women and children.
